You can trace Datacenters.com back to 2002 with the formation of Global Communications Group, Inc. (GCG). GCG was the parent company of Datacenters.com until 2016 when Datacenters.com became its own legal entity. Both companies continue to be closely tied together and share the same executive management team under Joel St. Germain, Founder and CEO.
2011 - DataCenterMapping.com
In 2011, Datacenters.com was initially released under the domain name DataCenterMapping.com. The website contained a map on the home page, multiple drill-down pages for countries, states, provinces and cities, and basic profile information such as address, picture and short description. The initial database and directory included more than 1,500 data center facilities globally.
2013 - Datacenters.com Purchase
In 2013, the team decided to take the website to the next level after experiencing initial success with DataCenterMapping.com. Later that year, the team launched a new version of the website along with the new domain.
