SITEL s.r.o.: POP2 data center
About POP2 data center
The SITEL POP2 data centre is located at Kopčianska 18 (851 01 Bratislava), Slovakia. It operates as the “twin” facility to the original POP1 centre, providing neutral-colocation services in a major Central European connectivity hub.
As part of the SITELPOP brand, POP2 contributes to one of Slovakia’s largest carrier-neutral data-centre platforms—supporting dozens of domestic and international telecom operators, ISPs and enterprise clients.
The facility offers strategic advantages including network neutrality, access to Bratislava’s backbone fibre infrastructure, and modular colocation space — making it suitable for organisations seeking reliable and flexible infrastructure in the heart of Central Europe.
⚙️ Facility Highlights
- The data-centre is built to Tier III standards (infrastructure redundancy at N+1 minimum for power, cooling and cabling) to ensure high availability.
- Colocation footprint of over 1,100 m² of technical space across POP1 and POP2 combined, with POP2 being part of that total.
- Raised-floor technical hall with floor loading up to 2,000 kg/m² and a clear technical-floor height of 600 mm, enabling robust rack deployment.
- Backup power capacity of approximately 1.5 MW of operated standby power, enabling resilient operation in the event of mains interruption.
- Comprehensive Building Management System (BMS) controls fire-protection, access, air-conditioning, cabling, power distribution and allows for real-time client monitoring.
🔐 Security & Compliance
- 24 × 7 × 365 operations with controlled access: biometric or card-key entry, CCTV surveillance, secure perimeter and man-trap zones.
- Redundant power, cooling and network infrastructure designed so that critical systems are maintainable without impacting client operations. This infrastructure supports the facility’s contractual service-availability level up to 99.999%.
- Neutral-colocation environment operating with multiple carriers, backbone networks and interconnection options — enhancing resilience and vendor independence.
🌐 Connectivity & Carrier Access
- Carrier-neutral hub located in Bratislava, with access to all major Slovak backbone networks and over 50 foreign operator interconnections.
- Diverse fibre routes and multiple points of entry ensure path-redundancy for network connectivity, supporting high-availability requirements.
- Designed to accommodate collocation, cross-connects, peering, transit and hybrid-IT deployments — making it suitable for cloud, enterprise and telecommunications use-cases.
💼 Who It Serves
- Enterprises, cloud/SaaS providers and system-integrators requiring secure, neutral colocation in Central Europe with strong carrier access and flexible deployment models.
- Telecom carriers, ISPs and fibre network operators needing a Bratislava-based hub with multi-carrier interconnect access and neutral infrastructure.
- Organisations implementing hybrid-cloud or disaster-recovery strategies with a preference for a mid-Europe data-centre node.
- Content-delivery networks (CDNs), media and streaming providers requiring high-availability and low-latency connectivity across the region.
