In April 2018, Google officially broke ground on its $600 million data center in Jackson County, Alabama. Now a fully operational site, we've created over 100 jobs onsite in a variety of full-time and contractor roles, including computer technicians and engineers as well as various food service, maintenance, and security roles. We work hard to support the communities in which our employees live and work.
Since 2016, we've awarded more than $600,000 to local schools and nonprofits, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through grants, events, and programs.
