IREN Prince George: Sweetwater 2 Data Center
About Sweetwater 2 Data Center
The Sweetwater 2 Data Center is IREN’s next-generation expansion project in Prince George, British Columbia, currently under construction. Building on the company’s established presence in the region, Sweetwater 2 is designed to deliver large-scale, high-performance digital infrastructure powered by renewable energy resources abundant in Northern British Columbia.
Strategically located in Prince George, the facility benefits from access to low-cost, hydroelectric power supplied by BC Hydro, a cool climate favorable for energy-efficient operations, and strong regional fiber connectivity. The project is part of IREN’s broader strategy to develop sustainable, vertically integrated data center campuses supporting high-density compute, AI workloads, and next-generation cloud infrastructure.
Once completed, Sweetwater 2 will expand IREN’s capacity in Western Canada, reinforcing Prince George as a growing hub for renewable-powered digital infrastructure.
