Bare metal is a server without any pre-configured software that is dedicated to a single tenant, which helps users avoid the noisy neighbor scenarios that affect performance. The server can be optimized by the tenant for its specific needs and purposes. Bare metal servers are also known as managed dedicated servers. The operating system (OS) for the bare metal server is installed directly which helps optimize performance.

Bare metal is typically the most efficient deployment for organizations because it allows them to take full control of both the physical machine and software. This higher degree of control leads can lead to better performance compared to cloud servers because the infrastructure is dedicated to a particular organization and not shared with other users. Businesses are free to customize and configure the hardware and software to whatever their exact specifications need to be at any given time.
