T Mobile: T-Mobile DC7

T-Mobile’s DC7 Data Center, located in Prague-Hostivař (District 15), Czech Republic, is one of the operator’s most advanced and strategically significant data center facilities. Opened in 2018 and expanded from 2023 onward, DC7 serves as a central hub for colocation, cloud, and ICT services to major corporate, financial, and governmental clients. Its location in Prague provides excellent connectivity advantages — proximity to major fiber backbone nodes and transit routes, central position in Central Europe, and close access to Prague’s metro, road, and business infrastructure.

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• Built for purpose: the structure is designed specifically as a data center (not adapted from other building types), using over 25 years of experience. 
• Floor space: initially 1,400 m² of IT hall space in four technology rooms; full expansion targets 2,800 m² with eight rooms. 
• Ceiling Height & Floor Loading: Clear ceiling height in IT halls is ~380 cm; raised (doubled) floors at 100 cm capable of carrying loads up to 2,000 kg/m². 
• Rack / Power Density: Per-rack power densities up to 30 kW/rack. 
• Energy Efficiency: PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of about 1.3. 
• Expansion: In 2023, DC7 began expanding with a new wing adding four additional data halls (1,400 m² more IT space), adding substantial IT capacity. 
• Power backup: Multiple diesel generators (five diesel aggregates planned/installed), UPS systems, redundant power delivery systems. 
• Cooling: Designed with redundancy (free cooling + indirect adiabatic aftercooling) and engineered to manage temperature, humidity, and environment actively.

• ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified for information security management. 
• Physical security:
• Multiple security zones with controlled access for people and materials. 
• Electronic Access Control (EAC), biometric elements. 
• 24/7 local & remote monitoring, surveillance cameras (CCTV), alarm and emergency systems.
• Fire detection: Highly sensitive smoke detection (VESDA), gas-based extinguishing systems for technology rooms; fire suppression in support infra separate so issues there don't impact customer spaces. 
• Compliance: Meets international standards as above; regular audits and security management practices. 

🌐 Connectivity & Carrier Access

• Part of T-Mobile’s high-capacity DWDM transport network, interconnecting key Central European hubs (Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Frankfurt, Warsaw) and peering into large operator networks. 
• Redundant / circular / ring topologies in the transport network to ensure no single fiber cut disables critical links.
• Offers standard colocation connectivity services; likely multiple carriers and transit options (via T-Mobile’s backbone and potentially partner interconnects).
• Private 5G network being deployed on-site for environmental monitoring, testbeds, and possibly inter-device communication inside the facility.
