Located on “Auf der Breit 5a, 76227 Karlsruhe, Germany,” the IPC 3 facility is the first new-build data centre from TelemaxX Telekommunikation GmbH and forms a key part of the company’s Karlsruhe Technology Region campus.

IPC 3 is specifically designed to deliver high-availability colocation and housing services for enterprise and telecommunications-grade customers, leveraging TelemaxX’s longstanding fibre-optic infrastructure and regional telecommunications expertise

Its strategic significance lies in offering a German-based, certified data centre environment (“made in Germany”), with strong connectivity into regional and global networks and redundancy built for reliability.

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• The data centre comprises four fully independent construction sections across two floors, each approx. 400 m², totalling ~1,600 m² of rack-space in the final build-out.
• Designed for up to approximately 600 racks (depending on rack size) when fully populated.
• Raised floor of 0.7-m height throughout the server halls to facilitate cold-air distribution and efficient cooling. 
• Cooling infrastructure uses free-cooling in cooler seasons and chillers on the roof: the configuration of 5 + 1 chilled-water units with up to 5× 440 kW capacity, plus up to 10 air-conditioning units totalling ~850 kW per section (100 % redundant) in the server halls. 
• Redundancy level N+1 for power and cooling systems; building supports high-availability operations.

• The facility is protected with full physical security: fencing, video-surveillance (including infrared cameras), intrusion and water/ fire detection systems, and access-control systems. 
• The infrastructure supports uninterrupted power supply and backup generator (in the event of utility failure) to maintain operations. 
• The data centre is certified to internationally recognised security and availability standards: ISO/IEC 27001 for information-security management, ISAE 3402 Typ 2 audit-reporting for internal controls, and TÜViT/DIN EN 50600 (Verfügbarkeitsklasse 3) for availability class in TelemaxX’s data-centre portfolio.

• Located within TelemaxX’s network footprint in the Karlsruhe region, the IPC 3 facility benefits from the company’s own fibre-optic infrastructure (2,400 km+ network in region) and is fully carrier-neutral.
