Telin: Telin-3 Data Center
About Telin-3 Data Center
Telin-3 Data Center is a purpose-built, multi-tier facility operated by Telin (now under NeutraDC, part of PT Telkom Data Ekosistem) in Singapore. Located at 8 Sunview Drive within the Singapore Data Centre Park (DCP) in Jurong, it functions as a strategic hub linking Singapore with Indonesia via submarine cables.
As the landing point for Telin’s IGG (Indonesia Global Gateway) cable system, Telin-3 is uniquely positioned to offer low-latency, direct connectivity between Indonesia and global networks. Its multi-tier design allows flexibility for customers to choose the operational tier they require while leveraging Singapore’s mature data center ecosystem and proximity to Southeast Asia’s digital traffic routes.
⚙️ Facility Highlights
- Five-storey building with approximately 20,000 m² gross floor area.
- Designed with modular, multi-tier architecture so that individual halls or modules can operate independently.
- Designed to support at full build-out 17 MW IT power plus ~8 MW for cooling infrastructure.
- Dual on-site substations, with two 22 kVA feeds presently, scalable to 66 kVA.
- Uses DRUPS (diesel rotary UPS) rather than conventional battery banks to reduce space and cooling overhead.
- Energy-aware features: LED lighting, use of recycled “NEWater” cooling, and rainwater capture for noncritical use.
- First in the Asia-Pacific region built under a VMware Validated Design (software-defined data center architecture) to support virtualization and cloud orchestration.
- Achieved Uptime Institute Tier-IV “Design” certification and Tier-III Constructed Facility certification.
🔐 Security & Compliance
- Operates under Telkom / Telin’s data center business, which emphasizes adherence to global standards and internal monitoring.
- 24/7 operations and physical security (guards, surveillance, access control) — while not all details are publicly listed, the facility is positioned as an enterprise-grade colocation hub.
- Part of Telkom Group’s data center footprint, which supports compliance frameworks across its data center portfolio.
🌐 Connectivity & Carrier Access
- Carrier-neutral facility: customers are free to choose from multiple carriers.
- Terminal point for Telin’s IGG submarine cable, connecting Singapore to Indonesia (SEA-US cable, SEA-ME-WE5 via Tuas) and onward to global markets.
- Three separate fiber paths and a cross-island dark fiber ring network that interconnects Telin-1, Telin-2, and Telin-3, reducing single-point risk.
- Built into the JTC-provided dark fiber infrastructure within the Singapore Data Centre Park, allowing front and back fiber entry points.
- Access to regional submarine and terrestrial backbone networks, enabling peering and interconnection to broader Asia-Pacific and global routes.
💼 Who It Serves
- Enterprises requiring cross-border connectivity to Indonesia (e.g. media, content distribution, cloud providers)
- Cloud and SaaS providers seeking a Singapore hub with integrated metro + submarine connectivity
- Network operators, carriers, and IXPs looking for a strategic interconnection point in Southeast Asia
- Businesses with hybrid deployments spanning Indonesia and Singapore, desiring low-latency transit and redundancy
