Ark Data Centres (UK): Longcross Park 2
About Longcross Park 2
Longcross Park 2, part of the Ark Data Centres campus in Longcross Park, Chertsey (Surrey), is designed as a next-generation, AI-ready, modular data center facility. The larger Longcross Park campus is being developed as a zero-carbon / hydrogen-ready site with advanced cooling and sustainability features.
Strategically located in the Enterprise M3 Enterprise Zone and adjacent to the Longcross Garden Village, it offers strong access to the UK’s South East infrastructure network and proximity to London while leveraging a more favorable land, connectivity, and energy environment.
The campus is being built with modular architecture to support scalable growth (target 54 MW total compute capacity across two data centers). The second building (“Longcross 2”) is expected to complete around 2025/2026.
⚙️ Facility Highlights
- Part of a campus-scale deployment targeting 54 MW compute capacity across two data centers.
- Modular steel-based construction for adaptability, reuse, and efficiency.
- Hybrid cooling approach: direct air cooling combined with liquid cooling infrastructure to support high-density workloads.
- Designed for sub-1.3 PUE targets under sustainable operation.
- Backup power systems to use low-NOx gas generators, and be hydrogen-ready (future conversion) to minimize emissions.
- Sustainable site features: living walls, EV charging facilities, rainwater harvesting, biodiversity integration.
🔐 Security & Compliance
- Tiered physical security with monitoring and restricted access (standard for Ark’s facilities)
- Remote monitoring and surveillance systems integrated across operations (typical for Ark’s campus design)
- Compliance portfolio for Ark includes standards like ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 9001(applies to Longcross campus).
- Onsite staff, operational support, and remote hands services as part of Ark’s standard colocation offering.
. 🌐 Connectivity & Carrier Access
- Carrier-neutral fiber interconnect infrastructure, enabling cross-connects between tenants and external networks.
- Direct access to high-performance connectivity suited for AI, cloud, and telecom workloads.
- Campus-level interconnection between buildings and shared network fabric.
💼 Who It Serves
- AI, machine learning, and high-performance compute (HPC) tenants requiring liquid cooling, high density, and efficient infrastructure (e.g., Nebius GPU cluster).
- Cloud providers, research institutions, and enterprises seeking scalable modular capacity in the UK’s South East
- Businesses with strong sustainability goals who want low-emission, hydrogen-ready infrastructure
- Telecom and network operators looking for dense interconnectivity and proximity to London
- Customers needing hybrid / multi-cloud connectivity, high throughput, and low-latency links
