Ark Data Centres (UK): Union Park 1

Union Park 1 is the first operational building in the Union Park campus, located in Hayes (Bulls Bridge Industrial Estate), West London, operated by Ark Data Centres.  This campus is designed as a high-performance, AI-ready facility with sustainability in mind, blending onsite solar, living roofs, and 100 % renewable power sourcing. 

Union Park occupies a strategic position in West London, giving customers access to London’s dense connectivity ecosystem, proximity to major transport infrastructure, and the ability to interconnect with cloud and carrier networks. 

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• UP1 comprises 18 (or 21) data halls of approx. 1,250 m² each, with phased deployment toward approximately 3 MW per hall
• The campus as a whole is planned for up to 24 MW total power capacity 
• Power architecture includes a high-voltage energy centre linked to dual medium-voltage energy centres and backup generation 
• Modular steel construction enables rapid deployment and scalability, reducing reliance on heavy concrete build where possible 
• Cooling strategy includes air cooling and liquid cooling options, along with indirect/direct air cooling modalities to optimize efficiency and density 
• Sustainability features: onsite solar generation, living green roofs, rainwater harvesting, biodiversity enhancements, and commitment to 100 % renewable electrical sourcing 
• Landscaping and green infrastructure integrated (living walls, green roofs) to reduce environmental impact and improve aesthetics
