luxconnect: DC 2 Data Center

Located at 3 op der Poukewiss, Z.A.C. Klengbousbierg, L-7795 Bissen/Roost, Luxembourg, Data Center 2 (DC 2) is operated by LuxConnect S.A. and went into service in April 2012. 

The facility is strategically positioned in central Luxembourg’s Bissen campus, offering low-latency access to major European hubs such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris via the operator’s fibre backbone.

DC 2 forms part of LuxConnect’s carrier-neutral, multi‐tenant data-centre offer and is designed from the outset for high availability and sustainability—powering digital infrastructure for global cloud, content and enterprise customers.

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• Gross size of approximately 21,000 m² and net IT space of around 4,800 m².
• Power infrastructure rated at 2 × 12.6 MVA available. 
• Support for rack power loads up to 10 kW per rack, with average IT room power density ~1,750 W/m². 
• Cooling system: chilled-water based, water input ~12 °C, output ~18 °C; raised floor height 1.20 m; server room height 3.80 m.
• Achieved a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) in the range of ~1.25-1.35. 
• Built with 100 % renewable energy sourcing and an electromagnetic‐protection concept.

• Physical security: 24/7/365 on-site security staff, intrusion detection, biometric access control, man-trap or controlled entry. 
• Fire suppression and early warning: VESDA (very early smoke detection), neutral-gas fire suppression (nitrogen), water leakage detection. 
• Compliance: The campus is certified by the Uptime Institute for Design and/or Constructed Tier IV and Tier II levels. 
• SLA for Tier IV segments quoted at 99.995%.

• Carrier-neutral facility with access to numerous international and national carriers. Example carriers listed include BICS, BT, Colt, NTT, Cogent, etc. 
• Hosts major internet exchanges including the Luxembourg Internet Exchange (LU-CIX) and links to NL-ix.
