Neterra Telecommunications: SDC 1 Data Center

SDC 1 is Neterra’s first data center facility located in Sofia, Bulgaria, built in 2011 and operated under the Sofia Data Center (SDC) brand. It is designed according to Tier III standards and functions as a neutral carrier facility. 

Positioned in the capital city, SDC 1 is strategically placed to serve both domestic and international connectivity demands. It connects to Neterra’s broader network and peering infrastructure, making it a key node in Southeastern Europe’s digital landscape.

• Designed to Tier III standards (Uptime Institute) 
• Total area: ~ 990 m² 
• Load capacity (floor loading): 2,000 kg/m² 
• UPS configuration: 2 × (N+1) redundant UPS systems, total 500 kW UPS capacity
• Cooling: combination of DX + Free Cooling systems, with redundancy in the cooling design (N+1) 
• Rack / cabinet options: full racks, half racks, quarter racks, rack units, private cages and modules 
• Meet-Me Rooms: 3 meet-me rooms with fully diverse cable entry infrastructure 
• On-site facilities: customer spaces, secure storage, offices, and direct access to the infrastructure

• 24/7 guarded entry, access control systems, mantraps, and biometric / card authentication

• NOC operations: continuous monitoring and support from Neterra’s network operations center
