Neterra Telecommunications: SDC 2 Data Center

SDC 2 (Sofia Data Center 2) is the newest Tier III data center in Neterra’s SDC campus, located in Sofia, Bulgaria, adjacent to their original SDC 1 facility. 

As part of the Sofia Data Center campus, SDC 2 leverages established infrastructure, connectivity, and operational support already in place at SDC 1. The facility is located in the Mladost district near the Mladost 1 metro station, providing good urban access and proximity to Sofia’s broader network and transport systems. 

SDC 2 is designed to meet Tier III Uptime Institute criteria (concurrently maintainable), ensuring that planned maintenance can be performed without interrupting customer services.

• Installed power: 2 MW of capacity across the facility 
• Total area: ~ 1,400 m² of gross space across 4 levels 
• Redundancy / reliability: 100 % redundancy in services, power, and connectivity
• Power feeds: dual independent cable traces (A + B) for supply 
• UPS / generator: (N+1) diesel generator backup with up to 72-hour fuel autonomy 
• Cooling / HVAC: energy-efficient air conditioning with improved airflow management to reduce power consumption 
• Environmental controls: temperature maintained in the 20–25 °C range, humidity controlled; early detection (VESDA smoke) and suppression systems, water detection systems integrated 
• Structural design: multi-level build (4 levels) tailored for data center use within existing telecom campus \

• Certifications: ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 20000, ISO 22301, ISO 50001, ISO 27701, PCI DSS, ISO 27018 are listed for SDC 2 and Neterra’s SDC campus. 
• 24/7 security monitoring and surveillance via licensed security personnel
• Access control: layered access controls, and authorization managed via Neterra’s client portal (my.neterra.net) for monitoring and basic power/electric parameters
• Fire detection & suppression: VESDA early smoke detection, water detection, and suppression systems 
• 24/7 operation: security, maintenance, and operations staff supported by NOC infrastructure
