"As one of the top five global providers of cloud hosting services and Web infrastructure, it might seem as if PEER 1 Hosting had no room to grow. However, the company announced at the end of August that it increased its revenue by a factor of four for its 2013 fiscal year, highlighting PEER 1 Hosting’s substantial channel growth.
According to a company press release, PEER 1 Hosting was able to achieve such remarkable market growth due to numerous developments, including:
The new enterprise-grade public cloud infrastructure offering, Mission Critical Cloud
The launch of its SMART Partner Channel Program
Strategic global channel hires
CRN’s recent recognition of PEER 1 Hosting’s 5-Star Partner Program
“Achieving 400 percent growth during our 2013 fiscal year is a major accomplishment,” Michael Mayer, executive director of worldwide channel at PEER 1 Hosting, said in the release. “As a business, PEER 1 Hosting is laser focused on our people and relationships – whether it’s with an employee, customer or partner; the commitment to relationships in our new channel program is a testament to its significance. Looking to the future, we hope to continue helping our customers realize the potential of the Internet, and our upcoming strategic product launches will significantly expand their existing portfolios.”
The company’s new channel program contributed to 40 percent of all new acquisition sales in its 2013 fiscal year. New alliance partners also helped drive the company forward, with Dell and Arrow joining the program.
Dell and PEER 1 Hosting Partner Up
In late July, PEER 1 Hosting announced that it joined Dell’s public cloud partner program, and the pair will be working to deliver cloud services to entities in Canada. This enables customers there to purchase PEER 1 Hosting products through Dell sales representatives.
“PEER 1 Hosting is pleased to be a part of this strategic alliance with Dell,” said Michael Mayer, global channel director for PEER 1 Hosting. “We have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Dell for hardware and software solutions, and we believe that, together, we can offer our customers unparalleled service in Canada. Canada is one of our fastest growing regions in the world when it comes to hosting, and we are confident that our combined sales teams can help customers recognize the true potential of cloud computing.”
PEER 1 Hosting Keeps Customer Interactions Front and Center
The are many organizations operating in the cloud IaaS and hosting market, and each will have its own business model and philosophy. PEER 1 Hosting has long emphasized the value of customer interactions, whether through the Web, by phone or in person. When the company announced in late July the signing of a commercial lease in San Antonio’s Pearl neighborhood to expand its office space, PEER 1 Hosting used the opportunity to discuss its commitment to its people.
“PEER 1 Hosting is committed to being the most human company on the Web and believes that every interaction – with its employees, customers, partners and more – matters,” the company stated in a release. “The move, which more than quadruples the company’s current space, to San Antonio’s most up-and-coming area, underpins PEER 1 Hosting’s dedication to its people, as well as its rapid growth.”
The company demonstrated its commitment to its customers with its latest announcement in early September that it would be offering a “Holiday Helpline” for its online retailer customers utilizing PEER’s cloud PaaS solution for e-commerce. As the holiday sales rush is just around the corner, smart online retailers are beginning to prepare their platforms now. The hotline is meant to serve these online companies that need support or advice on establishing platforms to effectively handle high traffic volumes. The Holiday Hotline has officially gone live and will remain active through the end of October."
