Yexio

YEXIO is a next-generation edge data centre network developed by HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions GmbH in partnership with Palladio Partners and operated with Thomas-Krenn AG. The first YEXIO facility, located in Heiligenhaus, North Rhine-Westphalia, marks the beginning of a nationwide rollout of modular, sustainable, and decentralized data centres across Germany.

Built to bring digital infrastructure closer to end-users and enterprises, YEXIO combines low-latency connectivity, regional data sovereignty, and high energy efficiency. Its mission is to strengthen Germany’s local digital resilience while offering secure, eco-conscious hosting for businesses, public institutions, and cloud operators.

• The inaugural site in Heiligenhaus occupies approximately 9,000 m² within the regional Innovation Park, strategically positioned between Düsseldorf, Essen, and Wuppertal.
• Constructed using mass-timber structures, reducing the building’s embodied carbon footprint by an estimated 600 tonnes compared with traditional methods.
• Incorporates direct water-cooling and heat-reuse systems, with waste heat distributed to local municipal infrastructure such as public swimming pools.
• Designed for scalable edge deployments, enabling modular expansion to meet regional demand.
• Part of a planned network of 15 decentralized data centres across Germany, forming a distributed edge backbone for enterprise and AI workloads.
