AMS5 is Switch Datacenters’ flagship power-dense, AI-optimized data center, launching in 2027 as part of a next-generation 100MW+ digital infrastructure triangle alongside AMS6 and AMS7. Strategically co-located with a power distribution company and directly connected to the high-voltage power grid, AMS5 is purpose-built for the most demanding compute environments—especially AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC).
Starting with 95MW of IT load and scalable to 110MW+ after 2030, AMS5 is not just a hyperscale site—it’s a sustainability-first digital powerhouse. It uses Switch’s modular high-density power architecture, a hybrid dry and air cooling system, and is engineered for flexible thermal options including liquid, air, or hybrid cooling—ensuring optimal support for the latest AI chipsets and ultra-dense rack deployments.
