The Telkom Kenya Nairobi Data Centre is situated at Milimani Exchange on Bishop Road, adjacent to the NSSF Building in Nairobi’s Upper Hill business district. It serves as a strategic infrastructure node for Kenya and East Africa, offering open-access colocation, hosting and connectivity services at a location that links directly into Kenya’s national fibre backbone and submarine-cable systems. Designed to support both domestic and international clients, the facility enables organisations to centralise their IT operations in a secure, resilient environment within one of Nairobi’s major telecommunications sites.

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• The facility spans approximately 1,160 m² of data-centre space at launch. 
• The rack area accommodates 52U racks and is configured to support up to 4 kW of IT load for about 30 racks in its initial phase. 
• Dual-input power design offering 4 kW per rack capacity, with AC and DC power load support, modular UPS (A & B battery systems) and standby generators. 
• Cooling infrastructure uses N+1 redundancy per room, with raised-floor configuration and temperature and humidity control aligned with international standards. 
• Network diversity includes three distinct fibre-routes serving the site for uptime resilience—connecting to submarine-cable systems and multiple metro exchange points.

• The Data Centre supports two-factor access authentication (fingerprint + access card), boom-barriers at entries, turnstiles and full CCTV surveillance covering inside and outside colocation rooms.
• The site is monitored 24/7/365 and includes residential on-site operations and remote-hands support. 
• Carrier-neutral architecture allows customers to connect to multiple service providers and instantly interlink to major international submarine systems.
