Edged: Edged Phoenix Data Center

The Edged Phoenix City Data Center (also called Edged Phoenix, PHX01) is a state-of-the-art facility located at 8811 East Warner Road, Mesa, Arizona, east of Highway 202. Operated by Edged (an Edged Energy / Endeavour company), it is designed to serve the fast-growing Southwest U.S. market, especially for AI, high-performance computing, and enterprise workloads. 

Its positioning benefits from low latency to major metro areas, strong solar energy availability, competitive energy costs via local utility (Salt River Project), and a business-friendly regulatory environment.

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• Power Capacity: 36 MW of critical load planned. 
• Size & Site: Approximately 210,000 square feet (≈ 19,510 m²) facility footprint on about 12 acres. Two-story construction. 
• Cooling System: Advanced waterless cooling (“ThermalWorks” system) supporting high densities: up to ~70 kW/rack with air-cooling, and up to ~200 kW/rack with plug-and-play liquid cooling integration.
• Efficiency: Designed for a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of ~1.15 (portfolio average) and consumes zero water in cooling. 
• Construction & Design: Two stories, includes loading dock bays, meet-me rooms, slab floor, white space designed for high-density compute. 

🔐 Security & Compliance

• Physical Security & Access: 24 × 7 × 365 access controls. Onsite offices and loading docks indicate logistics readiness. 
• Reliability / Redundancy: Tier III design with concurrently maintainable infrastructure; N+1 power, UPS, and cooling systems to ensure high availability. 
• Standby Power & Backup: Standby generation systems (engines Tier-4 Final as per environmental standard) and battery backups supporting all electrical and mechanical systems. 
• Compliance Certifications: No explicit data found yet about formal third-party compliance certifications (e.g. ISO, SOC, PCI, etc.) for Edged Phoenix at time of sources. 

🌐 Connectivity & Carrier Access

• Fiber & Carriers: On-demand fiber providers are being brought into the facility. Light Source Communications has been announced as the first network provider to build into Edged Phoenix.
• Diverse Fiber Entry: Multiple fiber providers and at least four diverse points of entry are planned. 
• Meet-Me / Interconnection Rooms: The facility includes meet-me rooms to facilitate interconnection. 
• Carrier-Neutral Status: While specific “carrier-neutral” phrasing is not fully confirmed for all carriers, the facility is being set up for multiple providers and on-demand fiber, supporting diversity and ecosystem-rich interconnection.
