Selectel ltd: Tsvetochnaya 2 Data Center

Tsvetochnaya 2 (aka “Цветочная 2”) is a Selectel-operated data center located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, at Ulitsa Tsvetochnaya, 19. 

Launched in December 2015, it is Selectel’s second facility on Tsvetochnaya street and part of its distributed infrastructure network across Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and the Leningrad region.

Its location in Saint Petersburg brings advantages such as proximity to major Russian Internet backbones, access to fiber infrastructure along the city’s network routes, and integration into Selectel’s regional infrastructure pools. 

Because it is part of a multi-site footprint with Selectel’s other facilities (including Tsvetochnaya 1 nearby), clients benefit from resilient multi-zone deployments and reduced latency within the broader network. 

⚙️ Facility Highlights

• The data center supports approximately 1,196 rack slots within its server halls. 
• The server room area is reported at 2,564 m² (≈ 27,597 ft²) for the Tsvetochnaya cluster, of which Tsvetochnaya 2 is a core component. 
• It is designed with N+1 redundancy for both power and cooling systems. 
• The facility was rebuilt from an industrial building into a modern data center; the structural concept assigns one independent data-center zone per floor in the 4-story main building, with a separate annex housing generators, transformers, and switching gear.
• Each floor is effectively treated as its own deployable data center, with a design target of ~2.5 MW per floor in the original plan. 
• The adjoining annex building is dedicated to the plant systems (diesel generator sets, substation, power distribution).

• It integrates with Selectel’s internal fiber backbone, which spans over 245 km across its data centers and enables cross-site connectivity and redundancy. 
• It is part of the “Tsvetochnaya” availability zone and is connected to the same fiber routes and interconnect infrastructure as the adjacent Tsvetochnaya 1 facility.
• Internal network architecture uses redundant nodes to avoid single points of failure: all internal network links are redundant (N+? scheme) as per Selectel’s general DC design. 
• Supports interconnection services (cross-connects between clients, inter-rack fiber, access to public exchanges via Selectel’s backbone) within its colocation framework.
