WiTCOM: WiTCOM DataCenter 1
About WiTCOM DataCenter 1
The DataCenter 1 facility, operated by WiTCOM Wiesbadener Informations- und Telekommunikations GmbH, is located at Konrad-Adenauer-Ring, 65187 Wiesbaden, Germany.
The site is strategically situated with direct access to major motorway routes (A 66, A 3, A 643, A 671), facilitating easy logistics and accessibility for customers.
WiTCOM emphasises a sustainable and resilient operations model — the facility is powered exclusively with “Naturstrom” (green electricity) from renewable sources, certified under TÜV SÜD’s CMS Standard Generation EE.
DataCenter 1 is presented as a modern, certified facility supporting colocation, server-housing, managed hosting and virtual-data-centre services — ideal for business customers, IT service providers and organisations seeking secure, German-based infrastructure.
⚙️ Facility Highlights
- The technical area (IT-space) extends to approximately 600 m² divided into four rental areas plus additional geo-redundant backup space.
- Power and resilience infrastructure: a dedicated transformer station with redundant transformers on-site; a 560 kW diesel generator for emergency power; two modular UPS systems in N+1 configuration.
- Cooling and thermal performance: active high-performance cooling systems configured in N+1 redundancy; use of dual cooling media (chilled-water system with free-cooling plus refrigerant system) designed for ~1,600 W per m² in usable data-hall space (international Tier standard reference).
- Accessibility and customer support: 24 × 7 × 365 access for customers; customer rooms with daylight, workspace, kitchen and sanitary facilities inside the building; barrier-free delivery access and parking on premise.
- Rack and housing options: Full-rack (47 U) with max 2,500 W power; half-rack (21 U, 1,500 W); quarter-rack (10 U, 1,000 W); bespoke cages from 4 racks or 12 m² upward. Power billed based on actual usage; base internet switch-port and public IP included.
🔐 Security & Compliance
- Physical access control includes electronic locking with two-factor authentication (transponder + code lock), video surveillance of all circulation areas (event-triggered recording) and intrusion detection system.
- Fire-protection systems: Very early smoke detection (aspirating smoke system), central fire alarm system (BMZ) and Novec 1230 gas fire-extinguishing system.
- The facility is certified according to DIN EN 50600 by TÜV Rheinland (since 2021).
- Operations are powered entirely with green electricity, supporting the firm’s “Green-IT” commitment.
🌐 Connectivity & Carrier Access
- The data-centre is connected via a redundant optical fibre backbone, with different routing to the WiTCOM network and separate service lines to ensure path diversity.
- WiTCOM’s two data-centres are interconnected through dedicated fibre-optic trunks and the operator’s high-speed backbone, enabling georedundant solutions across campus.
- The facility supports cross-connects and services such as WDM couplings up to 100 Gb/s, SAN Fibre-Channel ports, and virtual-datacentre/cloud-link products.
💼 Who It Serves
- SMEs, enterprises and IT service providers in the Rhein-Main region requiring local, high-quality colocation with German-based infrastructure and strong connectivity.
- Organisations and SaaS platforms seeking eco-friendly (“green”) data-centre options powered with renewable electricity and certified infrastructure.
- Customers requiring flexible rack footprints (¼, ½, full racks) and managed services such as remote-hands, server-housing, virtual-data-centre and storage services.
- Companies needing connectivity-rich environments with fibre redundancy, cross-connect options and direct links to WiTCOM’s network ecosystem.
- Businesses with continuity or disaster-recovery needs who benefit from the facility’s georedundant backup spaces and resilient design.
